A first for Manchester, attracting Starwood Capital’s flagship hotel brand Treehouse to a complex site in a prime location. Starwood have partnered with Alliance to bring forward the entire Renaissance site, including 50,000 sq ft Grade A offices, 300 best-in-class apartments and 10,000 sq ft retail and leisure, recreating a thriving city centre destination.
Alliance formed a JV partnership with Pitalia Real Estate to realise the potential for Lowton Business Park in Wigan, and to meet surging market demand for mixed industrial accommodation in the area. The two like-minded businesses collaborated to accelerate this strategic opportunity, bringing together their skills and expertise to refurbish and improve management of the occupied premises, to bring forward a modern business estate.
A long-term northwest partner to Ares, our activity spans several projects including building acquisitions and asset management. Setting out on a five-year strategy in 2012, Alliance identified significant commercial opportunities in the region, including the redevelopment and asset management of Trident office building, followed by Piccadilly Place in the city centre. Ares were looking for investment opportunities in the North West and continue to rely on Alliance’s regional expertise, strength of relationships and placemaking value.
Alliance procured the acquisition of Towers business park in Didsbury, bringing regional market knowledge, development and management expertise to transform the workspace into a highly valuable asset, with long-standing, high calibre tenants. Alliance and Moorfield continue to work together.
A funding partner to Alliance since the company’s inception, Royal London assisted the acquisition of key industrial assets, Orion and Hercules in south Manchester. Most recently, Royal London forward funded the redevelopment of 3 St Peter’s Square for a hotel, using Alliance’s knowledge and development expertise to manage the project and identify the two hotel tenants, Motel One and Staycity.
A funding partner to Alliance, Aviva forward funded the redevelopment of 55 Portland Street for hotel use. Alliance negotiated a new 202-year ground lease from Manchester City Council, recognising the demand for hotel and leisure space and securing the Dalata Hotel Group as a tenant.
